Pam Peters, President & CEO
Pam Peters, President & CEO of MarketSpace Communications, was born for creative. Since a child, big ideas burgeoned in her head. With a passion for communicating through design, a zest for artistic beauty and a mindset of limitless potential, Pam weaved through a noteworthy career in big-brand advertising before launching MarketSpace Communications.
But before we jump too far ahead into MarketSpace-dom, let’s start at the beginning. After graduating from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a visual communications degree, Pam jump-started her career as a graphic designer, but quickly developed into a director of creative. For more than 20 years, and from agency side to corporate side, Pam managed creative strategy for some of the most sought-after brands from GNC to rue21 to Kaneka Nutrients to McCain Foods to Homer Laughlin China to PPG Industries and beyond. Regardless of her environment, Pam excelled, climbing the creative ranks with an inventive finesse that beckoned success for herself and her clients. Pam’s industry potential soon became unmatched as she acquired experience in all sectors and through all mediums because of an undying love for her profession.
In 2005, Pam unleashed her entrepreneurial spirit and launched MarketSpace Communications – an achievement she regards as the best endeavor of her life. With a desire to build an all-inclusive powerhouse agency that suited the needs of both employees and clients, Pam took the plunge and hasn’t looked back.
Starting out as a creative agency, MarketSpace hired its first employee just six months after launch. To date, Pam has cultivated it to include just fewer than 20 employees and an expanded range of services including branding, creative solutions, strategic marketing, PR & social media and digital technologies. She prides her company on eagerly going the extra mile to deliver the perfect solution to each of the agency’s clients. With a capacity for greatness, Pam thrives off of big projects that afford her the opportunity to shape the direction of a brand by integrating all creative mediums.
In 2011, the Women’s Small Business Association named Pam “Best Business Woman in Pittsburgh.” She also holds extensive creative awards including AIGA’s, Pittsburgh ADDY’s, PRSA Renaissance’s, IABC’s and more. Her work has also been published in several publications, including America’s Corporate Identity.
If you’re wondering how she does it, we’re not sure either. To her, it’s a motto that if you imagine it, you can do it. After tackling one of the most challenging endeavors of starting a business, Pam cultivated this opportunity and sliced a sizeable space out of the market for her agency — we call it our MarketSpace. Now, MarketSpace has a client list that spans a range of industries and once they come, they come back for more.
In her spare time, Pam is highly active in St. Gregory Catholic Parish. She spends time vacationing in the Caribbean, enjoys a drive to the Finger Lakes for some wine tasting and an occasional jaunt to the casinos. The loves of her life are her husband Tom, her two kitties Sidney and Benny, and of course, her baby MarketSpace. An eco-addict, Pam is committed to delivering green solutions to her clients, and has an obsession with retro upcycled or recycled goods.
Pam is a member of the American Institute of Graphic Design, the Pittsburgh Ad Federation, Pittsburgh Technology Council and the American Marketing Association. Pam is on the board of the St. Gregory Catholic School Centennial Endowment, on the board of Butler County Community College, and is a graphic design mentor for AIGA Pittsburgh. MarketSpace is a Woman Business Enterprise (WBE) in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
